Wooden Boat Festival Returns April 23, 2022
This April 23, 2022 the McKenzie River Wooden Boat Festival will return to Eagle Rock Lodge in Nimrod, OR. After missing the last two years do to COVID restrictions, this outdoor event will be restored to the popular format as past years. This free event is open to the public from 10:00am to 4:00pm at 49195 McKenzie Hwy, Vida, OR 97488. That is between milepost 34 and 35 on the McKenzie Hwy East of Eugene, OR.
McKenzie River Drift Boat on the Rogue River
Today’s McKenzie River Drift Boat has few changes from the boat designs of the 1970s.
In this photograph, river guide and boat builder Jayson Hayes is running a guided trip for Helfrich River Outfitters on the Rogue River in Southern Oregon. His custom built high side guide boat is tuned for maximum performance among the boulders of the famous Blossom Bar rapids where there is little room for a mistake.
